Tina Mariane Krogh Madsen: The Intensity of Matter – The Inhuman Affects of Geological Performance
This website is an appendix to Tina Mariane Krogh Madsen's doctoral thesis The Intensity of Matter – The Inhuman Affects of Geological Performance, as it holds much fieldwork and documentation which it is not possible to share in the written thesis. Therefore it can be considered together with the written monograph (if one of the mentioned fields seems interesting to explore in more depth, to see or listen to the actual outcomes, interventions, recordings) but it can also be seen as an accumulation of fieldwork from an artist researcher whose investigations in geological relations hold many connection points. Furthermore, this site does not include all the recordings from the last five years of artistic research but it is foucused on the recordings and documentation which are discussed in the doctoral thesis. Please note that almost all field-pages consists of more subfields and therefore each holds an overview page from which you need to click on to navigate the materials. Additionally, as this site in its minimal aesthetics has been written in html by hand, it is scalable but the best viewing and navigating experience is in horizontal format and not on a small screen like e.g. a mobile phone.
Field 1: Helsinki, Finland, 2020–2024. Field 2: Mustarinda, Hyrynsalmi, Finland, 2022. Field 3: Ars Bioarctica, Kilpisjärvi, Sápmi, 2022. Field 4: Between Sky and Sea, Norway, 2022. Field 5: Titanik, Turku, Finland, 2022–2024. Field 6: Aalborg, Denmark, 2023. Field 7: Northern Iceland, 2024. Field 8: Malmberget, Sabmé, 2024.
The above eight fields and their varied outcomes (via fieldrecordings, interventions, drawings, and other ) have been crucial for the pre-examined artistic components of the doctoral thesis, and the documentation of these two performances can be found below:
Practised Problem 1: Matter-as-Collaborator Lab, 2022. Practised Problem 2: event-bodies [folding], 2024.
